
Senior Healthcare Data Specialist

IHACPA's mission is to design healthcare and aged care systems that prioritize the well-being of all Australians.
This role plays a key part in overseeing the end-to-end data acquisition cycle, from specification to provision of high-quality data sets for users within IHACPA.
The Branch is responsible for supporting IHACPA's evidence-based program of work through data services, including the collection, validation, and preparation of data from external stakeholders, as well as the development and maintenance of IHACPA's ICT infrastructure and information assets.
The Data Acquisition Section collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data services meet business needs and adhere to data quality, integrity, and security standards and requirements.
- Working closely with various stakeholders to manage hospital cost data submission requirements and processes;
- Providing technical support for data collection covering data acquisitions, analysis, monitoring, validation, information security, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders;
- Maintaining technical materials such as tools in SAS and Python to validate and consolidate data as required;
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill IHACPA's reporting requirements in the new Secure Data Management System build;
Data Analysts require key capabilities including:
- Providing program management, working to tight deadlines, and responding quickly to changing priorities with consultation, tenacity, and passion;
- Taking responsibility for the section's operations, including development, continuous improvement, and change control, as well as stakeholder engagement of the program of work;
- Achieving the section's objectives, ensuring closure, and delivering on intended results;
- Contributing to the section's operational capability and responsiveness, steering and implementing change, as well as dealing with uncertainty;
- Taking responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis, and resolving problems.
