Job Details

Estimated Salary: AU $92,000 - AU $108,000 per annum based on skills and experience in the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual and CNC machines in a jobbing environment with versatility to run both manual and automated machinery, including programming set-up and operation of 3 and 4 axis mills and lathes.
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes by implementing efficient solutions.
  • Proficiently read detailed drawings to manufacture parts accurately.
  • Maintain and repair conventional workshop equipment, such as Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, and Cylindrical Grinding, for various metal and material types.
  • Utilize Siemens and Mazatrol controllers for CNC machine operation and programming, with an emphasis on achieving precise tolerances and fits.
  • Measure and check parts for accuracy against specified tolerances.
  • Assemble and install parts into sub-assemblies and machines safely and efficiently.
  • Prioritize maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Provide technical support to guarantee adherence to health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Holding a recognized trade qualification as Fitter Machinist or 1st Class Metal Machinist is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in precision metal machinery is required.
  • Proven expertise in precision metal machinery is crucial.
  • A proactive focus on safety is expected.
  • The ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards work are necessary.
  • An ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment with a high level of discipline, attention to detail, and accuracy is required.
  • Excellent organizational and team working skills are necessary for success.
  • A valid driver's license is required for transportation to work sites.
