The Role:

We're seeking a highly skilled Precision Machinist to join our fast-paced workshop in the Northern Territory. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for operating manual and CNC machines in a jobbing environment, with a focus on precision metal machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual and CNC machines, including 3 and 4-axis mills and lathes, to manufacture parts from various metals and materials.
  • Assist in the continual improvement of processes to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Read and interpret detailed drawings to manufacture parts accurately.
  • Experience with conventional workshop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and cylindrical grinders, is essential.
  • CNC machine operation and programming, including Siemens and Mazatrol controllers, is an advantage.
  • Measure and check parts for tolerance and fits according to specifications.
  • Fitting of parts into sub-assemblies and machines.
  • Undertake maintenance and repairs of machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide technical support to ensure all works are completed to health and safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Perform operational maintenance of machines and overhaul and repair mechanical parts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc G-code machines and programming with Mastercam and Gibbs Cam is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognized trade qualification as a Fitter Machinist or 1st Class Metal Machinist.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in precision metal machinery.
  • Proven technical competency in precision metal machinery.
  • Proactive safety focus and ability to manage your own time and be self-motivated.
  • Good communication skills and positive attitude to work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with disciplined attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and team working skills.
  • A current driver's license.

We offer a competitive salary range of AUD $85,000 to AUD $100,000 and consider sponsoring applicants under the TSS-482 or 494 Visa sponsorship program or visa transfer.
