Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing harbour towage in accordance with the operational plan, acting as Engineer when not performing Master duties, taking command of the Tug and its crew when acting as Master, and completing preventative, corrective and statutory maintenance on the vessel supported by the maintenance teams.

Requirements:

  • A minimum ASD Master under 35m Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or equivalent, along with certifications in Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP) or its equivalent;
  • Engineer Class 3 (Consideration will be given for MED1 with sea time);
  • Current statements of attainment in Provide First Aid and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);
  • A current AMSA Medical applicable to your Certificate of Competency;
  • A valid MSIC or 'Job Ready' MSIC Application;
  • Full Australian working rights; and
  • Current, manual driver's licence.

Synaco Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced ASD Tug Operator to join their Port and Logistics team in the Gulf of Carpentaria. The successful candidate will work on a one week on-one week off roster and will be required to travel to and from Cairns or Darwin at their own expense. Meals and accommodation will be provided whilst on site.
