Telecommunications Network Designer

This role involves designing and commissioning fixed broadband networks, including fibre and radio backbone/core networks. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, with a strong understanding of telecommunications engineering principles.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design documentation and commissioning support for fixed broadband networks
  • Technical documentation incorporating detailed design, as built documents and handover packs using MS Visio, MS Excel
  • Post-design audit of installed network equipment to ensure compliance with client standards
  • Liaising with customers and building owners to obtain site access for field/site activities
  • Supporting the team leader and engineering team with design reviews/markups, template updates and contractor management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills in telecommunications engineering
  • Excellent understanding of general construction, building materials, safety in design, electrical wiring/telecommunications cabling rules
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass police checks as required to permit access to government and other critical infrastructure sites
