Telecommunications Manager Job Overview

The Telecommunications Manager plays a pivotal role in driving strategic and business decisions related to telecommunications technologies that support statewide emergency ambulance services.

  • Leads a team of specialist technicians responsible for implementing new technologies and maintaining existing infrastructure within the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
  • Develops and implements comprehensive Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) to ensure immediate response to systems failures and disaster recovery, guaranteeing the continuity of critical telecommunication systems and services for the EOC.
  • Maintains awareness of new technologies and opportunities for technical enhancements to the EOC telecommunication operating platforms, guiding the planning and management of technological change initiatives.
  • Provides strategic advice and recommendations to senior executives on EOC and telecommunications technology, including equipment specifications, training development, and alignment with organizational strategic plans.
  • Delivers training courses and materials to ensure end-users are proficient in the operation of EOC technology and radio/paging equipment.
