The role of a senior laboratory professional involves overseeing the work of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient workflow, prioritizing tasks to meet client requirements and delivering results within set timelines.
About the Role- Supervision and Leadership: Lead a small team of medical scientists in a laboratory setting, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance and productivity.
- Workflow Management: Prioritize and manage workflow to meet client deadlines and ensure timely release of results.
- Liaison with Senior Staff: Collaborate with senior staff and pathologists on unusual test results, resolving issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintenance and Operations: Oversee maintenance of laboratory equipment, scheduling routine servicing and addressing any unscheduled issues that may arise.
- Documentation and Compliance: Review and update laboratory documentation as required, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in medical science or a related field.
- At least two years' experience in a scientific role, preferably in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Results-Oriented Problem-Solving: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workflow, and deliver results under pressure.
- Organisational and Time Management: Effective use of time and resources to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
