Job Overview

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Turbine Mechanic to undertake maintenance on steam and gas turbines, including complex tasks such as de-blading, re-blading, and rotor balancing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising efficiency and operational longevity by performing routine checks and adhering to quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on steam and gas turbines, including complex tasks such as de-blading, re-blading, and rotor balancing.
  • Ensure safety compliance by following standard operating procedures, using protective gear and adhering to organisational values.
  • Disassemble, repair and balance mechanical equipment, including turbine shafts, journals and housings.
  • Conduct precision measurements and inspections using high-accuracy tools, accurately documenting findings in check sheets.
  • Replace or repair mechanical components, including turbine gears, seals, impellers, fans and bearings.
  • Operate and maintain balance of plant items, enhancing overall equipment efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
  • Trade Certificate III in Fitting & Turning or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting on turbines and/or rotating machinery.
  • Strong ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
