Field Service Plant Mechanic – New Machines & Rebuilds Specialists | Newcastle Region

We're seeking passionate Field Service Plant Mechanics who excel at bringing machines to life and optimizing their performance.

As a New Machines or Rebuilds Specialist, you'll work closely with our team to commission new machines or complete full overhauls. From the workshop floor to the customer site, you'll oversee each build through to delivery—ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

You'll be responsible for diagnosing, fine-tuning, and supporting customers during critical early stages of operation. This is your opportunity to take ownership of the full process, backed by a fully equipped tool-of-trade vehicle and a collaborative team.

To succeed, you'll need:

  • Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology (essential)
  • Certificate of Proficiency (essential)
  • Proven experience with new builds or machine rebuilds
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar or similar brand surface mining equipment is essential.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset and strong diagnostic skills
  • Unrestricted Drivers License
  • Applicants with site bans are ineligible

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary onsite point of contact, addressing customer requirements and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate onsite assembly and customization of CAT machinery based on customer specifications.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on CAT machinery to ensure optimal working condition before handover.
  • Provide travel support, visiting various locations throughout Newcastle and the Hunter Region to offer field service assistance and address customer needs.
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage customer requests and machine requirements, ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery process.
