About Your Role
In the capacity of Lead Planning Engineer – Asset Sustainability, you will spearhead, coordinate, and execute planning and design initiatives for asset sustainability projects, which encompass renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and enhancements. Your responsibilities will include producing high-quality design and project management documentation for Sustaining Capital projects. Additionally, you will ensure a seamless transition of projects to the Project Delivery team, leveraging your expertise to provide insightful guidance on asset sustainability initiatives for effective execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to asset sustainability engineers, directing their contributions to Sustaining Capital projects, optimizing team resources, conducting performance assessments, and fostering professional development and compliance.
  2. Oversee and conduct planning and design activities for capital projects, including asset renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and improvements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivering projects that meet operational needs.
  3. Evaluate and supervise consultant outputs to ensure they effectively address critical issues, offering solutions that align with project objectives and are completed within established timelines and budgets.
  4. Engage closely with internal stakeholders throughout the project management lifecycle, facilitating consensus on optimal solutions, adeptly managing differing viewpoints, and maintaining robust stakeholder relationships.
  5. Lead the comprehensive design process for asset renewals, enhancements, and expansions, ensuring that project goals are achieved.

About You
To excel in this position, you will need:

  1. A tertiary qualification in Chemical, Process, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  2. Current active RPEQ registration in a relevant discipline or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of employment.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, asset management, infrastructure planning, or a related field.
  4. Proven experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring teams, including resource and performance management.
  5. A strong track record in planning and evaluating complex infrastructure projects, producing high-quality planning reports, design deliverables, or business cases.

This role offers a competitive salary range, complemented by superannuation, and is a permanent full-time position. Appointment to this role is contingent upon the completion of a national police check and may be subject to additional medical or character assessments.
