About Your Role
In the position of Lead Planning Engineer – Asset Sustainability, you will spearhead, coordinate, and manage the planning and design of asset sustainability initiatives, including renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and enhancements. Your role will involve producing high-quality design and project management documentation for Sustaining Capital projects. You will also ensure a seamless transition of projects to the Project Delivery team, leveraging your expertise to provide sound guidance on asset sustainability endeavors for effective and efficient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to asset sustainability engineers, guiding their contributions to Sustaining Capital projects while managing team resources, conducting performance assessments, and fostering professional development.
  2. Oversee and execute planning and design for capital projects, including asset renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and improvements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and delivering projects that meet requirements.
  3. Review and manage consultant outputs to ensure they effectively address critical issues, offering solutions that align with project objectives and are completed within the designated timeline and budget.
  4. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders throughout the project management lifecycle, facilitating consensus on optimal solutions, adeptly navigating differing opinions, and maintaining robust relationships with stakeholders.
  5. Lead the design process for asset renewals, improvements, and expansions, ensuring that project goals are achieved.

About You
To excel in this role, you will need:

  1. A tertiary qualification in Chemical, Process, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  2. Current active RPEQ registration in a relevant discipline or progress towards RPEQ registration, with the ability to obtain it within 12 months of starting.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, asset management, infrastructure planning, or a related field.
  4. Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring teams, including resource and performance management.
  5. A proven track record in planning and evaluating complex infrastructure projects, producing high-quality planning reports, design deliverables, or business cases.
