About this Teaching Role:

Our school is seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Education Teacher to join our academic community. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in years 7-12, covering the Victorian Curriculum and fostering students' spiritual growth through Catholic teachings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons, promoting students' understanding of Catholic principles and values.
  • Prepare students for sacraments, including Confirmation, First Holy Communion, and Reconciliation, through instruction, retreats, and programs.
  • Teach the Bible, guiding students in applying the teachings of Jesus Christ to contemporary life and exploring ethical and moral issues from a Catholic perspective.
  • Provide pastoral care, mentoring, and spiritual guidance to help students navigate personal challenges and deepen their relationship with God.
  • Assess students' understanding and application of Catholic teachings through exams, projects, presentations, and reflective activities.

Requirements:

  • Valid VIT registration
  • CECV Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School (or working towards)
  • Experience in RE from 7-12 advantageous
  • Understanding of the Vic Curriculum and teaching experience in Vic/Australia
  • Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage
