The Role: Academic Leadership

Year Level Leader Position

This leadership role focuses on providing guidance and support to students and staff within a Catholic educational setting.

Skillset Required:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of, and commitment to, Catholic education principles.
  • Familiarise yourself with the Thomas Carr College Vision and Mission Statement, and the values that underpin it.
  • Provide strategic leadership that is characterised by a desire for continuous improvement, innovative thinking, and forward planning.
  • Proven organisational skills and abilities.
  • Develop highly effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage and communicate effectively with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in the face of changing priorities, deadlines, and pressures.
  • Exemplary teaching qualities.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and guiding students and staff towards achieving academic excellence.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve student outcomes and achievement.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other school leaders to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress and adjusting instruction accordingly.
