Electrical Design Engineer - Distro Project Lead

A stimulating career opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to lead complex distribution projects across Victoria, including the design of overhead and underground networks up to 66kV, substations, and street lighting.

This is a chance to step into leadership and drive project success through innovative design solutions, expert coordination, and effective collaboration with a dynamic team. You'll report directly to the Technical Services Manager and be part of an integrated business unit that values stability and innovation.

About the Role:

  • Lead the design of electrical distribution projects, including overhead and underground lines, substations, and street lighting, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate project activities, identify potential issues, and implement creative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, clients, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.

About You:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (advantageous but not required).
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of VIC electrical distribution networks, including URD, sub-transmission, and public lighting.
  • Possess established consultancy experience tackling challenges in overhead and underground design projects relating to the power industry.
  • Show proficiency working knowledge of software programs such as AutoCAD and/or NEARA.
  • Hold a project management background, especially if you're ready to step into broader leadership roles.
