Education Programs Manager - First Nations Culture

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and coordination of education programs that showcase the rich cultural heritage of our Botanic Gardens sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate education programs that align with our strategic objectives and NSW curriculum, catering to diverse audiences from children to adults.
  • Design and develop educational resources, signage, and displays that promote First Nations culture and history, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
  • Provide training and guidance to casual education staff to enhance their skills in delivering engaging programs.
  • Liaise with education providers, community groups, and partners to stay informed about educational trends and best practices, enabling us to deliver innovative programs.
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities to secure funding for our education programs, supporting the growth and development of our initiatives.

Requirements

  • A deep understanding of First Nations culture, history, and protocols, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and delivering education programs for various audiences, with a focus on creating engaging and interactive experiences.
  • Knowledge of NSW curriculum and educational learning theory, enabling you to design programs that meet the needs of learners.
  • The ability to work in an outdoor setting, engage with visitors of all ages, and provide excellent customer service.
  • A current Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role.
