Procurement Manager Role

The Procurement Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the creation, negotiation, and execution of contracts with suppliers who provide essential services and components to various projects.

  • Manage contract performance against KPIs, timelines, and contractual obligations;
  • Evaluate and select suitable suppliers based on their past performance, financial stability, and ability to meet project requirements;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers/vendors;
  • Identify potential risks associated with supplier performance and implement mitigation strategies;
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities into overall project plans;
  • Lead contract negotiations, including terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules;
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on contract performance, risks, and issues;
  • Analyse data to identify trends and areas for process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field;
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement or contract management, preferably within Defence;
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing contracts and vendor relationships;
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and regulations;
  • Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required;
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
