Job Title: Water Treatment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Treatment Specialist to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in water treatment operations, maintenance, and management.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various water treatment equipment/processes, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • They will also be expected to collaborate with the Water Treatment Team Leader and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the water treatment plant.

Responsibilities:

Our ideal candidate will possess sound verbal and written communication skills, be physically strong/fit for duties involving manual labour/physical activity, and be able to work as part of a team or individually as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Environmental Team and effectively communicate as part of the team to achieve environmental management system procedures.
  • Understand and maintain knowledge of plant operational and performance parameters, including safe operation, BOD and oxygen levels, hydraulic load and plant capacity, sampling frequency and technique, observation record keeping, selection of appropriate discharge rates, and troubleshooting fill levels.
  • Operate and maintain water treatment equipment/processes, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Water Treatment Team Leader and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the water treatment plant.

Skills and Qualifications:

The following qualifications and skills are essential for this role:

  1. Experience operating various water treatment equipment/processes, including aeration, screw press, clarifier, MBR, UF, RO.
  2. Sound verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Physically strong/fit for duties involving manual labour/physical activity.
  4. Ability to work as part of a team or individually as required.
