This is a permanent, part-time position requiring 34.5 hours per week during school term and up to 38 hours during vacation care time.
The role involves working in a team environment with the Service Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations of the service.
The goal of this position is to provide high-quality programs for children and young people.
About the RoleIn this position, you will be responsible for assisting the Service Coordinator with staff management and ensuring compliance with policy.
You will also be required to develop quality programs for children and young people, manage day-to-day running of programs, and undertake administrative requirements.
Your work will involve collaborating with families and the school community to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and play.
Responsibilities- Develop quality programs for children and young people, tailored to meet their individual needs.
- Manage the day-to-day running of programs, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Support the Service Coordinator with staff management, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with policy, including health and safety regulations, child protection procedures, and quality assurance standards.
- Undertake administrative requirements, including data entry, record keeping, and reporting.
- Collaborate with families and the school community to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and play.
- Completed or actively studying relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (minimum Diploma in Children Services).
- Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain.
- NQF knowledge would be advantageous.
