About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join AusNet Services as a Senior Asset Engineer, where you will play a critical role in shaping our cleaner energy future. As a key member of our Asset Management team, you will be responsible for providing expert input and advice on high voltage switchgear and instrument transformers across the entire asset lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing plant strategies and asset management plans to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Monitoring and analysing asset performance, condition, and maintenance data to inform decision-making
  • Investigating and analysing equipment failures or problems, and drafting reports to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of engineering and equipment standards to ensure compliance with industry standards, legal, technical, regulatory, safety obligations, and contractual obligations
  • Providing expert input for contestable projects in development and delivery phases, including network and equipment selection, concept design, tender and detailed design reviews, and construction and quality assurance support
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in the electricity industry, preferably in asset owning organisations
  • Experience in asset management, asset engineering, operations, and incident management
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety outcomes
  • In-depth knowledge of HV assets, with a focus on HV switchgear and instrument transformers and emerging trends and innovations
  • Knowledge of relevant condition monitoring and assessment techniques for HV switchgear and instrument transformers
  • Commercial acumen and ability to operate from a contestable context
  • Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks, and relevant standards
  • Experience in the use of SAP or similar ERP systems
