Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled kernel developer to join our team. As part of the Canonical Kernel Team, you will be responsible for the build, maintenance, and distribution of the Linux kernel.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to integrate silicon vendor support into the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
  • Diagnose and resolve kernel issues reported by partners, customers, and the community.
  • Take ownership of delivering distinct silicon-optimised variants of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.

Requirements:
  • Well-organised and motivated self-starter able to thrive in a remote work environment.
  • Professional manner with colleagues, business partners, and the open-source community.
  • Significant programming ability in C.
  • Strong grasp of device drivers, BSP's, and other aspects of hardware-level system engineering.

Desirable Skills:
  • Python and Bash scripting ability.
  • Prior background with major SoC families.
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux kernel patching and debugging.
