Overview

The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) is a critical component of the company's security organization, responsible for ensuring the security of every aspect of the business.

As a Senior Security Researcher on the Global Hunting, Oversight, and Strategic Triage (GHOST) team, you will be part of a collaborative effort to identify and mitigate complex security threats affecting Microsoft customers worldwide.

About the Role

This role involves performing deep analysis of attacker activity in on-premises and cloud environments, identifying potential threats, and providing recommendations to improve customers' cybersecurity posture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing threat hunting and incident response activities to identify and remediate security threats
  • Providing proactive guidance to customers on mitigating security issues and sharing research findings across teams
  • Collaborating with engineering partner teams to drive product and tooling improvements based on learnings from threat hunting and incident response

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection
  • Ability to meet Microsoft's customer and government security screening requirements
  • Investigation/Cybersecurity/Digital Forensics/DFIR certifications (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP))

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $140,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
