We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Threat Manager to join our team at Vero Insurance. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization from cyber threats and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on technical IT experience, with substantial experience in leading incident responses. They will also possess in-depth knowledge and commercial experience with logging and analysis tools, security incident management tools, and threat intelligence platforms.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead teams, provide coaching and feedback, negotiate outcomes, and resolve conflicts.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working options, paid parental leave, employee assistance program, and dedicated employee council.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure effective monitoring and detection of incidents and threats by maintaining system logs, tools, processes, and reporting mechanisms
  • Rapidly respond to and remediate security incidents, collaborating with other teams as necessary
  • Perform comprehensive technical investigations by leveraging deep technical knowledge of technology systems
  • Develop and maintain a robust threat hunting framework to identify and report on suspicious activities within Suncorp
  • Manage and enhance the Threat Intelligence capability, including tooling and information guidelines, to enable timely detection and identification of threats
  • Oversee the Automation and Orchestration capability to streamline cybersecurity processes, ensuring faster and more accurate responses
