About the Role

Penten Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial management and reporting functions, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial and audit activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and influencing strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete the monthly analysis of financial results, including identifying and facilitating improvements to financial reporting, processes, and systems for accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Prepare complex accounting treatment assessments, policies, and procedures and financial statements in compliance with the Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Work with external tax specialists for submission of R&D tax incentive, income tax returns, ASIC submissions, and other compliance activities.
  • Lead the annual audit process through to sign off, including preparation of workpapers, liaison with auditors, addressing audit queries, and making and implementing recommendations from audit reports to strengthen internal controls.
  • Facilitate the monthly and annual financial close, ensuring all period-end processes and journals have been completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation laws.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex business requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a CA or CPA qualification.
  • Be an Australian citizen with an AGSVA NV1 clearance or higher (or be eligible and willing to undergo the process).
  • Be proficient in financial reporting software and ERP systems.
