Hindmarsh Construction is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing a small team to carry out all necessary tasks, activities, analysis and regulatory requirements to complete monthly and annual financial reporting across a range of Hindmarsh entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately complete monthly and annual financial reporting across multiple Hindmarsh entities and business areas with a focus on the Development, Corporate and Retirement business units.
  • Prepare cash flows, budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller with group consolidations and tax.
  • Review BAS and FBT returns.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller, Chief Financial Officer and CEO of the Retirement business unit in management of tax and other financial compliance activities.
  • Lead and develop a small team of junior and mid-level Accountants.
  • Support non-finance managers to assist with financial analysis and insight.
  • Identify opportunities for system and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
  • Professional Qualification of CPA and/or CA.
  • Team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, time management and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills and competency in the use of Word and Outlook.
  • A good understanding of the financial compliance around recording activities for commercial entities in respect of GST, FBT and PAYG.
  • High competency in all aspects of general ledger and subsidiary ledger on larger Finance (ERP) systems (e.g. CHEOPS, SAP, Oracle or Finance One).
  • Desirable skills include: Previous experience in the property development and/or retirement industries and Project Accounting experience.
