The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing a small team to complete monthly and annual financial reporting across multiple Hindmarsh entities and business areas.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Accurately complete monthly and annual financial reporting for the Development, Corporate, and Retirement business units.
  • Prepare cash flows, budgets, and forecasts to support business decision-making.
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller with group consolidations and tax compliance.
  • Review and prepare BAS and FBT returns.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and CEO of the Retirement business unit in managing tax and financial compliance activities.
  • Lead and develop a small team of junior and mid-level accountants.
  • Provide financial analysis and insight to non-finance managers.
  • Identify opportunities for system and process improvements.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • Professional qualifications in CPA and/or CA.
  • Strong team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills and competency in Word and Outlook.
  • A good understanding of financial compliance around recording activities for commercial entities in respect of GST, FBT, and PAYG.
  • High competency in general ledger and subsidiary ledger on larger finance systems.
  • Desirable skills include previous experience in the property development and/or retirement industries and project accounting experience.
