POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to enhance our Technology Integration team.

Our dedicated Automation division provides Ampcontrol's clients in various sectors including mining, water management, tunnelling, infrastructure, utilities, and energy with integrated engineering and technological solutions, primarily focusing on automation, process control, and communication technologies.

In a rapidly evolving market, Ampcontrol Technology Integration Solutions is establishing a strong standard. Your expertise in automation and control system network design will be crucial in maintaining our competitive edge.

The primary responsibilities of our Control Systems roles include designing, implementing, commissioning, modifying, and maintaining control systems and networks for our clients. We aim to bridge the gap between operational and information technology (OT/IT) and require proficiency in the diverse demands of an industry 4.0 environment. Your work will involve a mix of office-based development, field service tasks, and occasional on-call support.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Your proactive approach in a varied engineering setting will be complemented by the following qualifications:

  • Commitment to safety
  • Proficiency in PLC and SCADA programming (experience with Contrologix, Unity, CitectSCADA, FactoryTalk View, ClearSCADA, Siemens, Beckhoff preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of industrial networking and bus systems
  • Understanding of process control and automated systems
  • Experience with electrical switchgear and control systems
  • Familiarity with control system network design in mining, industrial, or power distribution
  • Networking and communications skills (CISCO, Microsoft certifications), programming, and project management experience – advantageous
  • Proficiency in software and IoT solutions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer or Mechatronic Engineering
  • OR Electrical/Electronic Technicians with substantial PLC/SCADA experience will also be considered.
  • Electrical or Electronic trade certification – advantageous but not mandatory
  • Project Management qualification – advantageous but not mandatory
