An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Petrologist to join the Laboratory team, based in Brendale. As a Petrologist, you will provide clients with professional services and advice in relation to petrographic analysis of construction material samples.

Responsibilities

Your duties include:

  • Petrographic sample analysis and reporting to ASTM C295, AS1141.65, and AS1726
  • Review and sign off of petrographic analysis reports prior to client issue
  • Liaising with clients
  • Meeting project deadlines
  • Carrying out other duties as required to meet the changing business needs of the organisation
  • Liaising with other consulting and laboratory staff to ensure clients' needs are coordinated
  • Liaising directly with clients as appropriate
  • Regular contact with Government departments, agencies, and Councils for information and updates on legislation

Requirements

We are looking for a Petrologist with:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Petrology, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of rock and mineral analysis techniques and methods
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
