Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Portfolio Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure the portfolio has an effective control environment across key responsibilities such as product appetite, product wordings, and underwriting guidelines and pricing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the growth of the portfolio by improving the customer experience and proposition, launching new products, and leveraging market inefficiencies.
  • Implement product and pricing strategies to optimize the growth, margin, and risk profile over the short and long term.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, pricing & analytics, actuarial, risk, and assurance & claims teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Govern the underwriting function via delegation of authorities (DoA's), delegated underwriting authorities (DUA's), underwriting guidelines, business & underwriting rules, technical training, and quality assurance.
  • Assist in building and improving the technical product capability across our business.
Requirements:
  • Experience in commercial insurance, coupled with relevant qualifications or professional & financial lines underwriting experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio, underwriting, and pricing practices and policies.
  • Solid understanding of the insurance industry, market environment, and customer segment.
  • Strong knowledge of professional & financial lines insurance products and knowledge of competitor activity and trends.
  • Project management experience or project experience on strategic initiatives or regulatory change is preferable.
