Senior Financial Accountant Opportunity

Power and Water Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for providing superior financial accounting, taxation, and regulatory reporting services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage financial accounting functions, including month-end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Lead tax and year-end reporting, overseeing direct and indirect tax functions and guiding the preparation of Consolidated Annual Financial Statements.
  • Provide strategic advice on technical accounting (AASB) and taxation matters that influence the organization's regulatory and business landscape.
  • Support planning, budgeting, and reporting processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and workflows.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and senior leadership.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting with CPA/CA qualification.
  • Strong people management skills, with a proven track record of mentoring and guiding teams through change and improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing effective interaction with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Expertise in accounting software, project management, and financial systems.
  • Extensive experience in financial accounting, taxation, and consolidations within complex environments.
  • Deep understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation.
