Virtual Infrastructure Systems Engineer Job Opportunity

This position involves collaborating with a dynamic team to support international joint force commands and make a difference in the world.

As a Virtual Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will have the chance to work on challenging projects and collaborate with experienced professionals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop data center infrastructure network engineering and design for a geographically dispersed enterprise network.
  • Provide engineering efforts throughout the lifecycle of projects, including documentation, design, build, integrate, transition, implementation, test, and training for IT Operations Management.
  • Analyze and recommend hardware and software life cycle and standardization for the enterprise and suggest best-practice solutions for datacenter and virtual infrastructure technologies.
  • Work in a dynamic fast-paced environment that requires team interaction and coordination of efforts, including remote site support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required.
  • Offer remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required.

Clearance Requirement:

  • A valid Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance are necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree + 3 years recent specialized experience or Associate's degree +7 years recent specialized experience or major certification + 7 years recent specialized experience or 11 years of recent specialized experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of VI environments and continued operation of a large scale VI deployment.
  • VMWare Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VPC-DCV).
  • CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater).
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Server 2016.
  • Engineering background in design, implementation and migration of Data Center technologies to include Cisco NEXUS products, Cisco UCS, Cisco UCS Manager, Fabric Interconnects, NETAPP storage solutions/SAN configurations, FCOE, VMWARE, ESXi, SNAP mirroring.
  • Ability and willingness to work OCONUS for minimum of one year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with private cloud virtualization and virtual networks in VMWare environments using hyperflex solutions to support Citrix VDI environments would be desirable.
  • ITIL v3 or v4 – Foundation.
  • Experience with Citrix licensing.
  • Cisco Data Center Certification (CCNA, CCNP).
  • Netapp Certification.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standard.
