Employment Law Specialist
About the RoleWe are seeking a seasoned Employment Law specialist to provide expert advice on employment law matters, including enterprise agreements, awards, contracts, workplace investigations, and terminations.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor legislative and industrial relations developments, providing strategic guidance on implications for policy, practice, and risk.
Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documentation, ensuring legal robustness and alignment with organisational values.
Partner with senior stakeholders across People & Culture, Risk, and Operations as well as external counsel and regulators to embed legal risk management into NAB's workforce strategy.
Influence policy development and contribute to enterprise-wide decision-making on employment practices and compliance.
Lead or support responses to regulatory inquiries, disputes, and litigation involving employment matters.
Lead, coach, and develop legal professionals within the Employment Legal team.
Promote the strategic value of employment law across the organisation, translating legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
Deep knowledge of employment law, industrial relations, and workplace legislation.
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders, People & Culture, Risk, and external counsel.
Skilled in translating legal advice into clear, commercially relevant guidance.
Strong communication and presentation skills, tailored to diverse audiences.
Familiarity with regulatory bodies and processes (e.g. Fair Work Commission, AHRC).
A collaborative mindset and commitment to ethical, people-centred legal practice.
