Urgent Care Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Urgent Care physician to join our dynamic team in Cairns, Queensland.

  • About the Role:
  • This is a full-time opportunity for a physician with experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong background in general practice, a passion for providing high-quality patient-centred care, and be registered with AHPRA as a Specialist General Practitioner.
  • Preferred qualifications include FRACGP or FACRRM, Advanced Skills Training in Emergency Medicine, and Basic Life Support (BLS) or advanced life support (ALS).

Practice Information:

  • This purpose-designed clinic provides short-term, episodic care for urgent conditions that are not immediately life-threatening.
  • The clinic features dedicated nursing and administration support, private urgent care triage rooms, dedicated treatment beds, private GP consult rooms, ambulance and low-mobility access, security and duress alarm systems, and designated resuscitation areas.

Treatment Capabilities:

  • The clinic treats minor illnesses, including respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted infections.
  • Minor injuries, including closed fractures, simple lacerations, simple eye injuries, and minor burns, are also treated.
  • Wound management, incision and drainage of abscesses, basic fracture management, intravenous cannula insertion, urinary catheter management, and removal of foreign bodies from the ear and nose are all part of the clinic's capabilities.

Extended Opening Hours:

  • The clinic operates weekdays from 8am to 10pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 6pm.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong background in general practice with a passion for providing high-quality patient-centred care.
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Specialist General Practitioner.
  • Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
  • FRACGP or FACRRM.
  • Advanced Skills Training in Emergency Medicine preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or advanced life support (ALS) preferred.
