Urgent Care General Practitioner Opportunity

As a General Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to work in our Urgent Care Clinic, providing high-quality patient-centred care to patients with urgent conditions.
Key RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in general practice and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. You must hold current Specialist AHPRA registration and have experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
- FRACGP or FACRRM qualifications are essential.
- Advanced Skills Training in Emergency Medicine is highly desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or advanced life support (ALS) is preferred.
- Availability to work weekends, Saturday and Sunday, 9am – 6pm on a rotating roster basis.
- Evening shifts are also available.
Our clinic provides short-term, episodic care for non-life-threatening conditions. It features dedicated nursing and administration support, private treatment beds, and security systems.
- Dedicated Nursing and Administration support ensures seamless patient care.
- Private GP consult rooms provide confidentiality and comfort.
- The clinic is designed for easy access by ambulance and has low-mobility access.
- Security and duress alarm systems ensure patient safety.
- A designated resuscitation area is equipped with defibrillator, airway management equipment, ECG machine, mobile bed, IV fluid resuscitation equipment, and emergency medications.
- A dedicated area for treating fractures and plastering is available.
- On-site parking and shared facilities including meeting rooms and tea rooms make it an attractive place to work.
Our clinic can treat minor illnesses, minor injuries, wound management, incision and drainage of abscesses, basic fracture management, intravenous cannula insertion, urinary catheter management, removal of foreign bodies from the ear and nose, and on-site imaging and pathology.
- Minor illnesses such as respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections can be treated.
- Minor injuries, closed fractures, simple lacerations, simple eye injuries and minor burns can be managed.
- Wound management, including gluing, suturing and dressings for minor burns is provided.
- Incision and drainage of abscesses can be performed.
- Basic fracture management including application of backslabs and plasters is offered.
- Intravenous cannula insertion allows for IV antibiotics and rehydration fluids.
- Urinary catheter management and changes for males and females are available.
- Removal of foreign bodies from the ear and nose is possible.
- On-site imaging and Ultrasound services are available.
- On-site Pathology services are offered.

Specialist AHPRA registration and no conditions are required. Overseas doctors without current AHPRA registration are ineligible. Emergency Department experience is highly desirable.
