KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this role, your work will have a significant impact on protecting our nation's most critical assets.

The Systems Engineer position supports the customer by understanding current and emerging threats, developing threat mitigation strategies, facilitating training and exercises, and providing on-site mission protection support to daily operations. This requires frequent interactions with remote teams, coordination of priorities, and synchronization of activities.

  • Work as an ops planning and protection specialist, synchronizing priorities and activities through regular communication with remote GPOC teams, command and control teams, and key operations teams across the Enterprise.
  • Lead site integration into Joint Planning Process (JP 5-0) Forums/Working Groups to ensure site operations/support divisions/mission protection capabilities are represented in planning.
  • Plan and organize site involvement in internal and external exercises, including wargames when necessary.
  • Construct debriefs to capture lessons learned and improve space operations and protection efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to equip site operators and leaders with decision-making abilities related to protection actions.
  • Collaborate with external SMEs to understand the current and emerging threat environment.
  • Develop and present Mission Protection training to site personnel.
  • Manage schedules to ensure coverage of IC Enterprise meetings during non-standard duty hours.
  • Identify and capture risks, issues, and opportunities for the customer and provide analysis and recommendations.
  • Produce and review documents related to new capabilities, concepts, and integration efforts.
  • Work Full Knowledge and Consent (FK&C) issues pertaining to mission protection systems located in or operated through Australia with the Australian mission partner.

Key Responsibilities:

This position involves working closely with various teams, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring seamless coordination. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate, collaborate, and lead site operations/support divisions/mission protection capabilities.

Requirements:

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and DOD SAP eligibility. A Bachelor's degree and nine years or more relevant experience. Experience using JP 5-0, Joint Planning, principles, and/or products at tactical and/or operational levels. Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics. Understanding of satellite operations and satellite components (bus and payload), RF Fundamentals, and associated ground systems and approaches to assessing vulnerabilities.
