Our organization is seeking a skilled Engineering Operations Technician to join our team in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and requests.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Review and manage routine and corrective maintenance on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  • Create and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Manage facility assets and the provision of infrastructure and inventory management.
  • Oversee on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring that work observes established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
  • Coordinate with other business leaders to manage capacity and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.

Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance is required for this position. You will need to hold or be able to attain this clearance before commencing employment.

">Required Qualifications
  • Degree or technical certification (Military or Trade School).
  • Mechanical/HVAC/Electrical engineering or technician-level experience in a critical environment.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission-critical environment (data centres, telecom, etc.).

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Ability to participate in a 24x7 rotating shift roster.
  • 2+ years of operations experience in a data centre or other critical environment.
  • Experience with the development of MOPs and SWMS for planned works.
  • Familiar with the concepts and interaction of Service Management systems (Problem and Change).
  • Business-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a complex, fast-paced environment.
