The Australian Red Cross is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Young Parents Program. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing safe and nurturing residential accommodation and outreach services to young parents aged 13 to 25 with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide integrated, individualized case management and behaviour support to young parents and their children
  • Develop independent parenting and living skills through direct parenting support and guidance
  • Work collaboratively with case managers to ensure best possible outcomes for children
  • Provide practical daily and emotional support to families in the residence
Requirements
  • Experience in Social Work, Community Development, Early Childhood, Welfare, Health or related discipline
  • Professional experience in the community sector, including direct client work addressing complex needs
  • Understanding of case management, strengths-based and client-centered practice, and best practice interventions
  • Commitment to culturally competent practice and ongoing learning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
