We are seeking an exceptional and motivated scientist to join our team at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research as a Postdoctoral Researcher. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and collaborative research environment, working on cutting-edge projects in genomics and computational biology.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments and analyses to advance our understanding of genomics and its applications in medicine.
- Contribute to the development of research projects and collaborations, and prepare research grant proposals and progress reports.
- Co-supervise and mentor students and junior research staff.
- Actively contribute to a culture of scientific excellence through adherence to research best practices, rigorous quality control, and reproducible science.
- A PhD in a relevant discipline, such as Genomics, Functional Genomics, Population Genomics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Statistical Genetics.
- Highly autonomous with a strong motivation for independent research.
- An outstanding publication track record, with demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion.
- Excellent time management, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
- A problem-solving mentality: able to navigate complex technical obstacles, and work effectively with colleagues to solve them when needed.
