Dam Safety Specialist

We are seeking a qualified Dam Safety Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the field of emergency management, specifically in dam safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinating the development and implementation of dam safety emergency preparedness and response plans for Local Water Utilities (LWUs), ensuring they meet legislative compliance requirements.
  2. Reviewing and updating dam emergency plans for LWUs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  3. Designing and facilitating dam safety emergency exercises for LWUs, adhering to legislative requirements.
  4. Assisting the Dam Safety Emergency Management team in delivering activities to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Conducting activities in support of Incident Management Teams during real-world responses to incidents and emergencies.
  6. Participating in project meetings, managing reporting requirements, and tasks to ensure delivery of specific project and program requirements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in emergency management or a related field and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Experience in emergency and incident management and/or business continuity management.
  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws, ordinances, regulations, established procedures, approved principles, practices, and organization of emergency management and business continuity work to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Knowledge of Incident Management Systems and relevant incident command procedures and methods, including emergency support functions, integration of entities into incident management, and roles and responsibilities in incident management.
