Data Center Facilities Specialist
Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Facilities Specialist to join our operations team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for delivering best-in-class service to our data center customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level or graduate engineers from mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic backgrounds who want to transition into a full-time position in our Hyper-Scale data center in Sydney.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in engineering principles and be able to work effectively within a 24/7 shift environment. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to provide exceptional customer service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs checks on-site for non-critical facility components
- Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and respond timely to alarms according to standard operating procedures
- Assist more senior staff in higher facility repairs and corrective maintenance measures
- Operate plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems under the supervision of more senior technical staff
- Normally follow established procedures on routine work, require instructions only on new assignments, and participate in the 24 by 7 Shift Roster in line with policy as part of the Critical Facilities Team
Vendor Support:
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure maintenance activities are carried out as per requirements
- Support the work order approval process for service providers on routine maintenance work, tracking briefing at the start of work, work during the day, and final review of the work carried out
- Ensure vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per standard operating procedures
Site Administration & Incident Support:
- Perform semi-routine site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts
- Use acquired job skills in following operating procedures to support on-site administration
Work Orders & Additional Projects:
- Complete semi-routine work requests and circuit installations
- Follow established procedures with troubleshooting and maintaining office equipment; support auxiliary equipment and machinery
Qualifications, Key Skills and Attributes:
- Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Degree or Trade Certificate
- Ability and willingness to work within a 24/7 roster and attain NV1 Security Clearance
- Positive attitude, engineering mindset, and willingness to learn on the job in a team environment
