Job Overview

The Senior Subcontracts Manager role is a high-profile position that plays a pivotal part in driving success for our programmes. As the lead for a major subcontract domain, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure significant value and mitigate risks.

This challenging opportunity demands an exceptional leader who can drive multiple stakeholders towards a unified goal while applying their expertise in procurement and contract management to deliver optimal outcomes.

  • Lead a team of professionals across various disciplines, focusing on performance tracking, risk management, and quality control.
  • Direct all aspects of subcontract performance as the Control Account Manager, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to targets.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers at all levels, addressing performance concerns and resolving disputes.
  • Present and negotiate with senior stakeholders regarding subcontract approvals, performance issues, and contractual agreements.
Key Qualifications
  • Proven experience in defence sector procurement and contract management is highly valued.
  • Degree qualification in engineering or commercial discipline with professional procurement certification is highly regarded.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) is highly regarded.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with a proven track record in contract negotiations within Defence or related industries.
  • Well-developed leadership experience through team management or complex project leadership.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve business benefits while maintaining key relationships.
