About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Field Officer - Community Work Specialist. As a key member of our Community Work and Partnerships team, you will play a critical role in supervising offenders completing community work tasks and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of clients at community work sites and other community work programs
  • Perform site inspections, assess hazards, and provide informed workplace health and safety advice, guidance, and instruction
  • Maintain tools and equipment registers and ensure repairs are undertaken
  • Transport offenders to and from community work sites
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate a range of tasks and ensure a safe environment for offender work teams
  • Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices and their practical application
  • Ability to quickly build rapport to understand the motivations of others, identify issues, and suggest appropriate courses of action
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and strong problem-solving skills
  • Model appropriate behaviors and attitudes to assist offenders in developing new skills and work practices
  • Carpentry or handyman skills
  • Gardening, landscaping, or painting skills
Working Conditions

Field Officers carry out a mixture of field work and office-based work, requiring the ability to demonstrate computer skills and written communication skills. Transporting offenders is a key part of the role, and Field Officers will be required to drive a 12-seater bus with trailer. A full and current driver's license is essential for this position.
