About the Opportunity

Mildura Rural City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Team Leader Bitumen Services. As a key member of the Council's Works and Infrastructure Branch, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily management and supervision of the bitumen sealing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure resources are available to meet Council's quality and safety standards.
  • Manage contracts and documentation as part of the Works and Infrastructure Services Unit.
  • Act as the liaison between Council and customers for bitumen sealing projects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Certificate IV or Diploma level qualification in civil construction or a related field, or a lesser formal qualification with substantial experience in the field.
  • An extensive knowledge of all bitumen spray sealing activities and plant operations associated with civil construction works.
  • Experience in project management and supervising work teams in bitumen spray sealing, road maintenance activities, or civil construction areas.
  • Ability to undertake the estimation of quantities of materials and preparations of costs for plant and labour hours for specific bitumen works.
  • A current Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence or willingness and ability to obtain within the first six months of employment at own expense.
  • A Dangerous Goods Vehicle Licence or willingness to obtain.
  • A current Level 2 First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • A current Construction Induction Card accredited by WorkSafe Victoria.
  • A current Spotter Registration Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • A current satisfactory Police Check or willingness to obtain one prior to employment.
