About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Officer to join our team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety. As a Field Officer, you will play a critical role in supervising a team of clients at community work sites and other community work programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of clients at community work sites and other community work programs
- Perform site inspections and assess hazards to ensure a safe working environment
- Provide workplace health and safety advice and guidance to clients and staff
- Maintain accurate records of tools and equipment and ensure repairs are undertaken
- Transport clients to and from community work sites
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices
- Ability to build rapport and suggest appropriate actions
- Conflict management and problem-solving skills
- Carpentry, handyman, gardening, landscaping, or painting skills
- Computer skills and written communication skills
- Full and current driver's license
Working Conditions
Field Officers work a mixture of field work and office-based work. This role will require working on Saturdays (penalty rates apply). Community Work operates seven days a week.
