Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned construction professional to join our team. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that stormwater treatment and flood prevention infrastructure assets meet the company's standards and expectations.

This role involves inspecting DSS construction sites across Melbourne Water's region to make practical engineering decisions in real-time, assessing and resolving field issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Inspect construction sites and make engineering decisions in real-time.
  • Provide input on site environmental management plans submitted by developers' consultants.
  • Participate in project management activities, including financial aspects such as variations and cost options.
About You
  • You have a relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental or Civil Engineering.
  • You have experience in environmental, geotechnical, vegetation, SEMPs, or civil engineering projects.
  • You have experience in the land development industry, preferably in government roles.
  • You can manage multiple large-scale site projects simultaneously.
  • You have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • You have leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching.
  • You have a strong health, safety, and environment mindset.
  • You hold an Industry White Card and are willing to undergo medical, criminal record, and qualification checks.
  • You hold a Victorian driver's license.
