About our role:

The Paw Pals program focuses on building student engagement, social and emotional wellbeing and learner confidence through animal-assisted educational-based activities.

This is an opportunity to work alongside trained therapy dogs in a structured intervention with specific academic goals within the Education and Engagement Team.

The position reports to the Operations Coordinator.

Key responsibilities include working with students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education, understanding how trauma impacts learning, and supporting the holistic development of students through animal-assisted interventions.

We require:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values
  • Experience working with a therapy dog, preferably in an educational setting
  • Relevant qualification and experience in working with animal-assisted therapies, owning a qualified therapy dog with current certification
  • Passion for supporting student wellbeing and development
