Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide tailored support to a Year 3 student with additional learning needs, enabling full participation in classroom activities.

About the Role:

  • Supporting the student's communication by implementing strategies under the guidance of allied health professionals and classroom/learning support teachers.
  • Using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods to facilitate participation.
  • Demonstrating patience, flexibility, and strong observation skills to adapt instructions and learning activities.
  • Liaising efficiently with classroom teachers, allied health professionals, and campus learning support teachers to ensure consistent support.
  • Maintaining accurate learning and communication support records, including progress notes on strategies used.
  • Collaborating effectively with the classroom teacher, other staff, and the Care Team.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Education Support (with previous experience desirable), or Certificate III in Education Support with recent relevant experience.
  • Ability to work one-to-one with students with communication and learning needs.
