About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Rheumatology team at Liverpool Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment and contribute to the growth of our Rheumatology Outpatient Service.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing advanced assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and autonomous decision-making in managing complex rheumatological conditions. You will act as a clinical resource for evidence-based practices in rheumatology and demonstrate clinical leadership through developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs to maximize patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of management options and treatment monitoring, with the autonomy to lead primary case management. You will also support and coordinate clinical trials and research projects within the Department of Rheumatology, including patient recruitment and participation.

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who is committed to advancing care for patients with autoimmune and rheumatic diseases. About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning in managing complex rheumatological conditions

  • Supporting and coordinating clinical trials and research projects within the Department of Rheumatology
  • Acting as a clinical resource for evidence-based practices in rheumatology
  • Demonstrating clinical leadership through developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of the employee's specified post-graduate qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong leadership and clinical skills
