Job Title: Data Services Manager\

This role is a key leadership position within the data services team, responsible for overseeing the development and management of data services to support business objectives and stakeholder needs.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in information management, distributed data systems, metadata standards, and spatial/geographic information systems.

\

They will lead and manage the Data Services team, providing guidance and training to ensure staff development and success. They will also oversee project management of all aspects of data services development, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs.

\Key Responsibilities:\
  • Lead and manage the Data Services team, providing guidance and training to ensure staff development and success.
  • Oversee project management of all aspects of data services development, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop business and implementation plans, promoting best practice and uptake of data assets.
  • Foster relationships with the national and international marine science community to drive adoption and use of data assets.
\Requirements:\
  • Postgraduate qualifications in marine science and/or information systems management, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in information management, distributed data systems, metadata standards, and spatial/geographic information systems.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, reporting, and implementation under recognized frameworks.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and train team members, establishing priorities and managing competing deadlines.
