UG Mechanical Technician

Newmont Australia, a leading gold mining company, is seeking an experienced UG Fixed Plant Mechanical Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our underground fixed plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fixed plant equipment, including crushers, conveyor systems, and ventilation systems.
- Assist with shutdowns, fault-finding, and project work to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Monitor and report on the status of equipment to ensure timely maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor – UG Mechanical FPM to develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules.
- A current trade qualification as a Fitter, Fitter and Machinist, or Welder.
- Experience as a Fitter in fixed plant or underground mining is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles and practices.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and experience with SAP or similar systems would be advantageous.
