Claims Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Officer to join our team at the University of New South Wales. As a Claims Officer, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and resolving employee pay claims.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work closely with the Claims Manager and other team members to investigate pay claims, communicate with claimants, and develop methodologies to quantify claims. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, discretion, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor claims channels and conduct investigations to identify and resolve pay claims.
- Assess claims against UNSW's obligations under enterprise agreements, the Fair Work Act, and other regulatory instruments.
- Provide recommendations on next steps for substantiated and unsubstantiated claims.
- Communicate with claimants and stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure all associated documentation is in place for substantiated claims.
- Locate and communicate with terminated employee claimants and ensure receipt of updated payment details.
- Store claim documentation in accordance with record-keeping obligations.
- Relevant degree with experience in employee relations, investigations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated consultation skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to apply judgment, creativity, and flexibility to generate innovative solutions.
- High level of experience working with computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
